My mom’s dream? To have all of her children, grandchildren and then some, sit at THE SAME table and eat a holiday meal. Well, this Christmas my mom’s dream came true: Pavlo and I have actually felt very guilty that we’re “squatting” at my parent’s …
Are you sick of these post titles yet? Yeah, I definitely am which is why I’m so glad that THIS IS THE LAST ONE! Yes, on the 9th day of tiling all of the tile (shower and floor) was grouted. It still needs yet another …
…we finished the field tile! I was so glad that I spent a great deal of “the 6th day of tiling” just cutting tiles in half, one after another after another. Since I was on kiddo duty, I couldn’t be there to help him finish out the field and do the other little cuts, but he tells me it really sped things up having them all cut in half already!
Here is the floor at the end of day 7:
Then, on the 8th day of tiling, Pavlo and my youngest brother went to the house to work on setting the accent tile. The green, penny tiled accent band is to run where the pieces of wood (seen above) are screwed in. Yes, these are the enjoyable things we have my 18 year old brother do during his Christmas break. I can’t imagine a senior in high school would want to be spending his time any other way!
At any rate, since I wasn’t there during the laying of the accent tile I don’t have any pictures of that process but I did have my brother and Pavlo take pictures once they were done. Fortunately for me my brother is very handy with the camera.
Next up is clean up! Yep, we need to do just a little bit of cleaning so that the grout lines are all clear and ready for grout! Pavlo really takes his time when tiling to minimize the amount of thin set we have to scrape from the grout lines but inevitably there is always some clean up.
