This and That

This and That

As I was writing the last post I was also half-watching the TV. I know, nothing too strange about that, right? Except for the fact that it suddenly dawned on me that I never showed you the freshly painted fireplace that was given an amazing

Even though we’re living amongst boxes, we gotta keep the renovations going! I mean, the only way to get everything unpacked and in place is to actually complete rooms! In the last post I mentioned how our plan was to work room-by-room and we’re starting

Our Beautifully Chaotic Life

Our Beautifully Chaotic Life

It’s been awhile, huh? Yes, I agree, it’s been way too long! I have a good excuse though, I promise. Since the last time I posted we cleaned all the rooms (with the exception of the sunroom, powder room and dining room) and moved in all of our stuff. After two days of cleaning up and moving we hopped on a plane for Miami. We’ve made a trip down there every year since Landon was born and prior to that Pavlo and I went multiple times to visit my sister who was in dental school down there. It’s a home-away-from-home for us for sure!

We flew back just in time to greet “Snow Storm Saturn” which, fortunately, wasn’t half as bad as meteorologist had predicted. The descent was a little bumpy but other then that it was smooth sailing flying, including no delays! Amazing!

Since we literally packed our bags for our trip while packing for the move we never really unpacked anything at our house. Here are a few pictures of what we came back to:

Yeah, not pretty! We spent the next four days setting up the rooms so we could actually sleep, shower and eat (you know, all the essentials) in a disorganized but (mostly) clean and functional home. I’m going to be brave show you some of the pictures of our disaster of a house but you must promise to reserve judgment! Remember, I’m taking time away from unpacking in order to post on this! Why I’m doing that? Not too sure considering it actually looks like we’ve taken two steps back in the sense of progress AND it makes us look like slobs!

Ok, here goes nothing, here are some pictures of the state of the rooms in the house:

They say to keep it simple with babies right? I know, this is a little extreme, we'll be bringing in a real crib this weekend.

Of course the kitchen is cleaned up and all our kitchen tools and gadgets have found new homes in the new kitchen. However, I forgot to snap a picture before we started a little project involving all of this:

Yep, barely unpacked but we’re tackling the backsplash. Besides, you don’t actually need a full shot of the kitchen, all that’s important is that these are set up to keep us going:

Now that we’re in the house our plan is to try and finish and decorate each room one at a time (we’ll see how well that goes).

Alright, off to unpack a little more and then to help Pavlo out with the backsplash!
