Feeling Moody ’bout the Bathroom Reno

Feeling Moody ’bout the Bathroom Reno

As promised, here is the mood board, or vision, for our middle bathroom’s makeover.
#1- Lite green penny tile as an accent band in the brushed marble floor (#2).
#2- Brushed white marble tile as the main floor tile. As mentioned above it will be broken up with an accent band of the green penny tile.
#3- New, white, water saving, high efficiency toilet. (We’ve actually already purchased this and we got the American Standard Cadet FloWise)
#4- New light fixture in chrome to coordinate with #5.
#5- Traditional style, chrome, wide spread faucet.
#6- Pottery Barn classic single sink console. This console comes with a marble countertop and white porcelain sink. We based the scheme of the whole bathroom around this piece because I found it on Craigslist about 2 months after closing on the house. It was a deal I couldn’t resist, a normally $1500 vanity was being sold for less than $600! A mismeasurement in someone else’s renovation (who “just wanted to get it out of their house”) worked out perfectly for our renovation.
#7- Lite green glass tiles to be the accent band for #8.
#8- Crisp white ceramic subway tile. A traditional look being broken up by the lite green glass tile (#7).
#9- New Kohler cast iron bathtub. This is also purchased and already installed. Cast iron is better than steel (holds heat better) and this tub cost just less then refinishing the old, almond colored steel one that was there originally.
#10- The background on this mood board is also the tentative wall color for the bathroom. It is Sherwin William’s “Sea Salt.”

Most of the items listed have already been found and several have been purchased. Now, I’m off to try and find the rest of the items, or at the very least something similar, all while staying within budget. Speaking of budget, once all the pieces are purchased I’ll do a post with the total budget breakdown. I know people often wonder how much money it takes to do a bathroom renovation without making the bathroom look cheap.
