Yet Another Blogging Attempt
Hello? Are any of this blog’s followers still there? I know, it’s been a while since I last published a post. Over two years in fact. Yikes! To be fair I have sat down numerous times to write and catch readers up since I last posted way back in September 2013. Ugh, just writing that out makes me cringe. Some days I can’t believe I just stopped blogging…then I remember why. I was two months away from delivering baby #3 and in complete nesting mode. It wasn’t your typical, set up the bassinet and prewash all the baby clothes type of nesting. Nope, it was more like renovation-style nesting mode. We were completely ready for the baby and the holidays, both of which were quickly approaching. However, certain projects in the house had to be completed before the little one came into the world. Not because we thought she absolutely needed an updated powder room or a magnificent playroom right away, but because we knew that once she came it would be really difficult to make progress on any projects for quite a while. Now, over two years after having her (ahh, where did my baby go?!), it’s still tough to make progress. In a nutshell, having three kids is hard!
All that being said, here I am trying to get back at it. How well will I be able to keep up? Who knows! Right now my goal is to simply catch the blog up because we really have gotten an enormous amount accomplished, even with 3 kids in tow!
I know in the last post I said I would describe how we did the coffered ceilings (which are still a favorite feature of mine) but let’s just face facts – most of you just want to see how the dining room turned out! Hopefully someday, in another 2 years maybe, I’ll find the time to write up a tutorial so others can implement the amazing trim detail in their own homes. Until then, I give you, the finished dining room:
The details include a new light fixture with a linen drum shade purchased on Overstock.
We also added curtains that brought in the same linen texture from the light as well as a more ivory tone, in comparison to the ones originally pictured in my mood board. Forgotten what the mood board even looked like? Well, you can refresh your memory here. Those curtains were complimented by West Elm finials attached to a simple Ikea curtain rod. They were practically a steal on super-clearance for $.97 a set.
Here’s are the before & after images:
Wonderful!
My favorite house of all time!
I’m delighted to see you posting again! Can’t wait to see your further adventures here. 🙂
