One Productive Weekend!

One Productive Weekend!

It was a busy and productive weekend at the house. It’s so exciting to see some of the finishes finally come together in the kitchen. Saturday afternoon Pavlo was able to paint the ceiling (we went with the standard flat, bright white) in addition to

Eenie, Meenie, Miney

Nope, there’s no “Mo” in this scenario! I only chose 3 paint samples for the kitchen so “Mo” was kind of excluded from this decision process! Poor Mo! Anyways, enough about Mo, we have more important things to talk about, like the fact that the

It’s Electric…

It’s Electric…

…Boogie, Woogie, Woogie! Okay, okay, before you all break out in the electric slide, let me show you the light fixtures I chose. They’re seriously amazing and made me want to dance with excitement – so save those moves for after you read!

First, it has to be said that I searched and searched and searched and searched (shall I go on??) for fixtures that would give the kitchen a rustic yet updated look while not breaking the bank. After spending hours and hours (no seriously, hours beyond hours) trying to find the perfect lights for the perfect price, I suddenly stumbled upon Barn Light Electric Company and had to pinch myself. They offer so many styles and finishes, all at what I found to be very reasonable prices. I was so excited to see their wide selection that I spent several more hours just browsing. Yes, this is what I do for enjoyment! (FYI, I get no benefits from posting their link. I just found them to be a great company with great products so anyone doing renovating should jump on over to their site and take a look!)

Once I finally got myself to focus I ended up with two pendant lights for over the kitchen peninsula and a gooseneck light for over the sink.

Here are the incredibly awesome super amazingly delicious lights:

And the gooseneck light for above the sink:

Of course, neither are actually installed in our kitchen yet, but hopefully soon!

Now to focus on picking the perfect paint color to go with the new cabinets and these drool-worthy lights! Do you have any idea how difficult paint selection is with two munchkins running around a dusty and power tool infested house?! The answer: VERY! At least Landon’s at an age where he wants to help paint the samples on the wall. Maybe, just maybe, we now have a third set of hands to help with the renovation? Who cares if it’s a set of 3 year old hands?! Help is help and beggars can’t be choosers! 🙂
