Kitchen Drywall…Check! Coat Closet…Check!

Aaaand back to the renovations going on at our house! Is the back and forth between our house and my parent’s driving you nuts yet? Are you surprised we haven’t lost our minds? Well, thankfully we kind of enjoy this type of chaos so we’re

Going Green

Going Green

My parent’s sunroom is finally painted! I went with the same soft green that we had in our previous house’s basement, “Ancient Marble” by Sherwin Williams. So far that color is 2 for 2, it has yet to disappoint me! We’ve even used the color,

Quality Prime with Pavlo

Quality Prime with Pavlo

Nope, you’re eyes aren’t deceiving you, I actually got two posts up in one day! I just had to let you all know that my parent’s sunroom FINALLY got primed!

One of the toughest parts of renovating a house (especially one that we’re not yet living in) is trying to balance it along with making sure we have plenty of family time. We do everything possible to make sure that time is set aside specifically for fun and relaxation. We realize that, in the end, our kids will only be little once and that the house will always be there. Once we are living in the house Pavlo and I will take on some of the projects together after the kids go to bed. We did this with our last house and it was really nice having a few hours (and two sets of hands) to get things accomplished without little ones demanding of attention and getting into things.

Well, we were able to have some of this good ol’ quality DIY time last night. I know I know, most couples consider a dinner out to be quality time, and don’t get us wrong, so do we. However, with so much going on, having time like this after putting the kiddos to bed is appreciated just as much!

At any rate, Pavlo worked fewer hours on our house and came home to help motivate me to prime my parent’s sunroom. He must have read my post about their trim (go here for more on that) because he walked right into my parent’s house and started working, immediately encouraging me to “join in on the fun.” It didn’t take long before I sucked it up, got into painting clothes and grabbed a roller. Thankfully this room as A LOT of windows because before long the room was primed!

Finally primed!

I’m hoping that since painting is one of Pavlo’s favorite parts of a room reno he’ll come home to help with that too! (I’m also banking on him reading this post so that he gets the message loud and clear! Love ya sweetie!)
