One Productive Weekend!
It was a busy and productive weekend at the house. It’s so exciting to see some of the finishes finally come together in the kitchen. Saturday afternoon Pavlo was able to paint the ceiling (we went with the standard flat, bright white) in addition to getting the first coat of the “Grayish” paint up on the walls. Oh, and just because he wanted to see how it looked/fit, he also installed the gooseneck light:
Much more gray and less pink right? I hate to say it buuuut, I told you so! Like I said before, we prefer to do a first coat before the cabinets go in because it allows for coverage along the edge of the cabinetry making cutting around the expensive and oh-so-pretty cabinetry MUCH easier when the final coat goes on the walls. Inevitably the walls are going to get a little scratched during installation so we wait until the very end of the kitchen renovation to do the final coat of paint.
Okay, back to our weekend progress. Saturday evening I went over and Pavlo and I were able to start getting some of the upper cabinets installed.
After installing those cabinets we took a few final pictures (seen above) and called it a night. Oh, but that wasn’t the end of our productive weekend! We usually take Sundays off but this Sunday we had some extra hands so we took advantage of it and worked some more on the house. Believe it or not I haven’t actually had a chance to go look at all the work they did on Sunday, but Pavlo took some pictures so I could share them with all of you!
Most importantly they finished the installation of the cabinetry:
They also primed all the siding that will go on the exterior of the new mudroom addition. I actually don’t have any pictures of that but I’ll be sure to snap some when it comes to posting about installing the siding on the house.
Off to go research sinks and countertops!
What are the dimensions of the goose neck light?
