…And The Kitchen Sink

The kitchen sink was installed on Thursday and it looks perfect! As I mentioned in the last post Pavlo was installing it prior to granite and this hints at what type of a sink I selected. Any guesses? Well, with the traditional, shaker-styled cabinets in more modern colors, I wanted a sink with a similar style. By doing so we are merely updating an old home rather then renovating it to the point where it looses its charm and character. The type of sink that fit the bill perfectly was a farmhouse sink.

And here is the sink after installation. I love how it looks against the dark grey cabinets and beneath the beautiful gooseneck light:

With the sink installed I was able to do some more countertop comparisons and I’ve narrowed my choices down just a little bit more. I’m currently debating between two different granites and two different styles of quartz. Since I was the one to go make initial countertop selections I think I’m going to have to drag Pavlo along to give me his opinion. The little samples of each countertop just aren’t doing the actual countertops justice and I need those second set of eyes to make a final decision. Besides, it’s important that we take a good look at the two granite selections in person because when it comes to granite it’s a good idea to check out the specific lot and slab that will be used in your project. So, if we do happen to choose one of the two granites as our countertop, we’ll already know exactly what to expect! And let me tell ya, at this point in the kitchen reno we could definitely use fewer surprises! More on that to come!
