On The 2nd Day of Tiling

On The 2nd Day of Tiling

We didn’t work quite as long on the 2nd day of tiling mostly because we were both fighting the cold from hades and knew we just needed sleep! Not a finished shower or house, but sleep! It’s been a week and I’m still not over this horrible horrible horrible cold. Ugh, I love the fact that we’ve had so many 60 and 70 degree days in the beginning of December in the Washington D.C. area, but I don’t love the consequences that can come from such drastic weather changes. (On a side note, I think my 3 and a half year old feels the same way about warm weather because yesterday he told me he was going to ask Santa to make the whole world warm. Ahh, I think the two of us were meant to live somewhere tropical!)

Anyways, here are some progression shots of what we accomplished on the second day of tiling.

First, we wrapped up the back wall started in day one (??):

Back wall completed

And then moved straight into the next wall. In addition to checking the bathtub to be sure it was level, the first thing we had to do prior to spreading thin set and placing tiles was to mark a line (using a level to be sure it was straight) where we would want the rows of tiles to end.

Line marking where the rows of tiles will end.

Then came the tiling and after about 40 minutes we had this:

Another 40 we had this:

And then another 40 minutes or so we had two complete walls!

2 walls down, one to go!

We were able to wrap this wall up and call it a night after a little over 2 hours. Not too shabby!
