The Final Four

The Final Four

When I last spoke about our countertop selections I mentioned how we had narrowed it down to two different granites and two different styles of quartz. After getting it down to this point we basically needed to decide between granite (the ever-popular, natural stone) and quartz (the non-porous, low-maintanance, highly durable man-made product).

Here are the 4 granites I selected after a trip to the granite yard:

Our number one choice was actually the White Macaubas (which is really a Quartzite stone – natural stone that’s less porous than granite) but it was a little bit too expensive. Figures, huh? But alas we do in fact have more then just the kitchen to renovate in this house!

After getting over the fact that we just could not have our first choice, we narrowed it down to these two beautiful granites:

As well as these two quartz selections:

Because we thought that any of the “Final Four” would look equally as beautiful, it all came down to budget. In the end we chose the Bianco Antico:

And the winner is…Bianco Antico! You can sort of see here how it looks against the sink and the dark cabinets. It really does look amazing!

There’s about a 10 day turn around for the particular granite company we’re working with so we should have countertops by the end of next week!
