I mentioned at the end of the last post how we could really use fewer surprises when it comes to this kitchen. Just like with any renovation, we’ve definitely had our fair share of hiccups and most have been resolved so easily that they really …
The kitchen sink was installed on Thursday and it looks perfect! As I mentioned in the last post Pavlo was installing it prior to granite and this hints at what type of a sink I selected. Any guesses? Well, with the traditional, shaker-styled cabinets in …
…I thought I would get a quick post up on hanging our new pendant lights. Yes, that pun was completely intended!
We swung by the house last night so that Pavlo and I could go over a few things and make some decisions together. Since the kiddos were with us we really couldn’t do too much in the way of actual renovating, but we did what we could, like hang these uber cool pendant lights from The Barn Light Electric Company:
You’ve already seen how the gooseneck light for above the window and sink turned out:
Pretty, right? Well, now it’s time to show you how the pendant lights look in their new home. Keep in mind that we don’t have countertops yet (that was one of the decisions we were trying to make last night) so it’s going to look a little bit incomplete until then.
Here they are close up:
Here they are from just a little further out:
Aaaand from just a little further out (all the way from the living room):
Remember when the view from the living room looking into the kitchen looked more like this:
Let’s look at the before and “in-progress,” pictures side by side:
Just a little FYI, unlike most pendants, these aren’t hanging by a chain and instead only have a cord. The cords came rolled up so they have a few unwanted curves in them. Not to worry, over time those will go away and the lights will hang perfectly even with each other.
Our kitchen sink and faucet also came in this week. I was going to show you what we selected…then Pavlo told me that he was going to try and install it tonight so I decided to hold off. The sheer fact that Pavlo is able to install the sink before countertops go in should give you an indication of what I chose!
