Wall-to-Wall Amazingness!
*Before I get into the beautifulness of our refinished hardwood floors I need you to do me a favor and go “Like” our blog’s Facebook page! You can either search for it yourself in Facebook or you can use the link in the sidebar! Oh, and as soon as I figure out this Instagram and hashtag thing I’ll be doing much more with that too, hopefully on a daily basis (fingers crossed)!
Where were we, oh yes, the floors. I mentioned in a previous post how one of our goals prior to getting the floors refinished was to paint. We were at least hoping to get a first coat on all of the walls merely because painting without having to worry about damaging newly refinished floors is sooooo much easier! Well, that didn’t happen, and since we were already scheduled to have the hardwood floor company begin, we were just going to have to be extra careful when painting. Boooo, definitely not ideal, but manageable.
Here’s a glimpse back at the floors when we first purchased the house:
And here are the floors after having them refinished in a Dark Walnut stain:
And, although this picture is not wonderful as far as the half wall cutting a portion of the floor out of it, it’s probably the truest representation of the color of the floor.
Obviously the whole house was refinished in this same Dark Walnut stain with a matte finish.
It looks amazing! Seriously could not be more thrilled with the color and the smooth, seamless finish of the floors. All of Pavlo’s patching blended in perfectly with the original floors, just as we had hoped. It is pure wall-to-wall amazingness. Heck, if the fumes hadn’t been so bad I could have stared at them for hours!
Be back soon with updates on paint! Yes, we’re getting some color on the walls! Woo-hoo! As you can see from the last picture above, as soon as the company wrapped up the refinishing, we went into “protect those beautiful hardwood floors” mode and threw down some Kraft paper…and we may have made the kiddos walk around ON THE PAPER in just socks for at least a week! Sure, go ahead and call us paranoid, but look at those gorgeous floors! Can you blame us?
