In Full Bloom

This weekend our backyard looked so beautiful that I thought it was about time I posted on how our outdoor living room was coming along. In addition to purchasing new cushions for the end chairs of our outdoor dining table

I purchased an outdoor rug (Crate and Barrel), two deep seated rocking chairs (Bed, Bath & Beyond) and a small coffee table (also Crate and Barrel) in order to create this little conversation area on our deck.

I particularly like how this little conversation area allowed us to make the built in bench much more than just random, additional seating. As you can see we arranged the table and rocking chairs in such a way that the deck’s built in bench is actually incorporated into the conversation area and therefore becomes useful seating.

Although this new setup has really added to both the deck’s visual appeal and it’s usefulness as an outdoor living room, it was the flowering bushes that made the space complete.
