Basement Bathroom Part II: Adding Some Color

As promised here is the post on the finishing touches of the basement bathroom. In the last post, which was about the construction portion of the basement bathroom, I showed you my inspiration behind the bathroom’s final look.

Since the bathroom had more traditional finishes (such as the white subway tiles, beadboarding and the sink’s faucet), I wanted to use color and pattern to make the space look a little more modern. The blue patterned fabric above is actually the shower curtain I chose (it’s from Target in case you were curious) . I’ve always loved blues and yellows together so it was a no brainer for me to select a bathmat in a coordinating yellow.
Along with a few other decorative pieces, I purchased yellow, blue and white towels to fill up the new built-in shelves.
Then a little artwork was added to walls and voi·là, the bathroom was complete!
